The Location
Chamrousse is at the heart of the Isere region, only half an hour away from Grenoble. It is a very popular resort with locals and was even used as an olympic site in 1968 where Jean-Claude Killy won his medals! Situated to the south of the Belledone massif, this winter sports resort dominates the Grenoble valley and offers beautiful pine forests as well as breathtaking views of the LOisan, le Vercours and la Chartreuse massifs.
The resort is divided into two resorts, linked by a regular bus service. There is "Recoin" at Chamrousse 1650 and "Roche-Beranger" in Chamrousse 1750 both of which have been the location for an ambitious regeneration programme in the last few months. This includes the renovation of existing buildings and the development of new residences and facilities, including shops and restaurants. It has been tipped as one of the best places to invest in in the French Alps as prices here are still very reasonable in comparison to the larger resorts.
