20th Arrondissement Paris Property Bargains

Paris’ 20th arrondissement is a fascinating mixture of cultures and society in the French capital city. For those who want to experience Paris and France, but don’t want to pay the very high prices throughout much of the city, this is a wonderful place to find a nice little apartment or hotel to enjoy.

This part of the city, the 20th of the 20 municipal boroughs which now designate the districts of Paris, is located on the eastern edge of the city on the north, or right, bank of the Seine. It has traditionally been the home of many immigrants and is very diverse, which now makes it a very good place to find bargain homes. It has a more neighborly feel than much of the cosmopolitan city, although the lower rents do attract quite an international crowd.

Much of the 20th arrondissement is being, being transformed or will be in the coming years, depending on where you are. There are several new and unique hotels that cater to visitors in this district, including the recently opened Mama Shelter. It was designed by Phillipe Starck and is operated by the founders of Club Med. It is located in an old car park, making it very unique. Nearby are many little cafes and restaurants to sit back and enjoy the Parisian lifestyle. And, for those who crave the past, the most famous attraction in this district is the Père-Lachaise cemetery. Here you can find the final homes of many famous Frenchmen and others, including Proust, Chopin and Jim Morrison of the Doors fame.
